Living Optics

Living Optics was spun out from the University of Oxford’s Physics Department in 2020 to commercialise a novel hyperspectral imaging (HSI) approach developed from research into creating the world’s fastest camera for use at CERN.

With only 0.0035% of light visible is to the human eye, HSI moves beyond this limitation, collecting information across the entire electromagnetic spectrum.  Existing techniques are slow, bulky, costly and collect large amounts of data requiring significant computational power for analysis. Living Optics’ approach offers order of magnitude improvements in these parameters, broadening HSI’s use from research to consumer applications.
