Oxtex is a medical device company spun out from the Department of Material Science at the University of Oxford in May 2011 by Profs Jan Czernuska and David Bucknall, and surgeon Marc Swan.

The Company is developing a novel range of implantable devices for soft tissue expansion which have broad applications including post-tumour resection, scar and burns revision, correction of birth defects and restorative dentistry. Oxtex’s devices are being developed in a range of sizes, which should allow for better post-operative outcomes and a significant share of this multibillion-dollar market.
